Boss Babes

The past few weeks (months, really) have been off the walls for me work-wise, so the other night I sat back with a glass of wine and checked up on the women who inspire me most for a boss babe refresh to get my mind right.

The women I’ve highlighted below inspire me on a daily basis to go after what I want, work hard at it, and never give up. So if you’re needing some inspiration yourself, read on ladies!

Danielle Bernstein: Talk about making your passion your job. Danielle is a fashion blogger living in NYC that has managed to turn her brand, WeWoreWhat, into a global sensation. Listed on the 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 list, again on its list of Top Fashion Influencers in 2017 (#2!), and owner of two brands (Second Skin Overalls and Archive Shoes), Danielle is the ultimate new-age, bad ass business woman. Each day, Danielle inspires me to follow my passion, partner with people/brands that I believe in, and to look amazing while doing it. Her tagline? “Hustle until your haters ask if you’re hiring.”

Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg: Also known as Skimm A and Skimm B. Or Skimm B and Skimm A. (I’m not quite sure which is which to be honest with you.) They risked it all and ended up with a company with an estimated value of approximately $55 million. Not bad, eh? These days, their weekday newsletter, which was launched in 2012, has over 5 million subscribers as of mid-2017. Even better. Leaving successful jobs with NBC, both women relied on their smarts, scrappiness, and each other to fight through. And if that’s not an inspirational success story, I don’t know what is. Skimm A and Skimm B remind me every morning to keep fighting for what I want to do when their newsletter hits my inbox. (Sign up here!)

Sophia Amoruso: My constant reminder to be unapologetic, badass, and willing to get back up after taking a few hits. A phoenix rising from the ashes. After building a multi-million dollar business with NastyGal before hitting 30, Sophia ended up having to file for bankruptcy for NastyGal in 2016. But then she was like”ummmm okay what next,” so she launched the online brand GirlBoss in 2017 which is currently taking over the world IM(humble)O. She takes her brand and her panel of badass women to hold rallies for young entrepreneurs, executives, visionaries, and creatives. Check her out here to learn more about Girlboss – and order the book on Amazon too because it’s life changing.

Julia Engel: Honestly one of the top bloggers in the country if you ask my opinion – which you are cause you’re reading this. Julia started her blog Gal Meets Glam when she lived in San Francisco as a side hobby and through consistency, determination and smart business choices, has molded it into the perfect example of just how important and impactful bloggers can be to consumers and companies alike. Through the power of being an influencer, Julia has traveled the world and even been able to launch her own dress line, the Gal Meets Glam Collection, which is absolutely amazing and every girl’s dream.

These four women are just a small, small start to the names I could list of empowering and kickass women today, but some that I have been following for a few years now. I can only hope that they can provide you a fraction of the inspiration that they give me each day.
